Inner City Scaffolding – Gas Holder 2 Project Overview
Inner City Scaffolding (ICS) is currently providing high involvement Temporary Roofing Containment Scaffolding plus leading edge scaffolding solutions to enable the safe and environmentally compliant restoration and repurposing of the Grade II* Listed Building.
The works being undertaken for our valued client DSM Group, will see the former and oldest surviving gasholder in the world, receive a complex phase of regenerative works during its repurposing including internal complex temporary support for all phases of works, external forced air/filtrated odour management system, dewater & desludging, tank monitoring, extraction & disposal of waste materials, and environmental clean down before its removal, refurbishment and re-installation that will provide a key communal area and social space for the wider development being completed.

- Approx 6,500m3 of Tented, Forced Air Filtered Airspace
- 770m2 of MKII System Roofing
- 440 LM of Support Scaffolds
Having been successful following an intrinsic strategic review process, the project has been a key deliverable on a hugely important scheme for our clients, the developer, community and Heritage England, one which Inner City Scaffolding are extremely proud.

Inner City were excellent at understanding the project constraints and surrounding risks when designing their scaffolds. This took into account the environment, consents required and the use of existing infrastructure. This is extremely important in a railway environment where the safety of the operation railway in of paramount importance.
