Gold Award for Skinners’ Hall

Inner City Scaffolding has been awarded the City of London ‘Gold Award’ for Skinners’ Hall works under the Considerate Contractors Scheme (CCS), working in collaboration with Rooff.

This specific City of London CCS – Scaffold Company of the Year Gold Award, is exclusively for the amazing design & build at Skinners Hall. This award is granted to one scaffold company every year, so we are the only winner out of all the other companies that were in the running for 2022/23.

Inner City Scaffolding is honoured to receive this award for their work on Skinners’ Hall, which involved innovative solutions from design to implementation. Due to the building being a Grade I Listed, Scheduled Ancient Monument, Inner City Scaffolding needed to ensure careful consideration during the tender process with recognition of the scheme’s logistical challenges, thus requiring a non-conventional approach. A proposal complete with the detailed scheme in principle, full 3D modelling and aerial route path for the lifting apparatus was presented to the client, Rooff Ltd.

With clear understanding of the complex task at hand, Inner City Scaffolding took into consideration numerous challenges associated with the multi-million-pound overhaul of The Skinners’ Hall. Challenges such as: Location (being located in central London, opposite a busy train station.), Logistics (the movement of heavy materials required extensive planning), Listed Building status (Being a Grade I Listed Building and Scheduled Ancient Monument, all construction-style works must be approved by the Secretary of State before taking place.)

The team at Inner City Scaffolding are extremely proud to be part of this project at The Skinners’ Hall and honoured to be recognised for our hard work under the Considerate Contractors Scheme.

Ben Ramsey, Commercial Director stated: The Skinners’ Hall has proven both challenging and rewarding for all involved, this type of project pushes the boundaries of what is normal from a delivery perspective, with the front end heavily engineered solution paying dividends for both the project, client, and local community.
