Meriden Estate – Commercial Scaffolding
Phase 1
Inner City Scaffolding was instructed to erect scaffolding to the perimeter of a new build block of flats at floor level lifts with adaption for bricklayers to pass through. To support bricklaying works a number of progressive erect loading bays were installed for loading out of materials for the bricklayers along with stacked loading bays at floor levels for general material to be loaded by the telehandlers.
Due to the location of the works, under low level 132KVA powerlines we liaised with UKPN to eliminate all risks of any scaffolding clashing during erection or dismantling. The full external scaffold was clad in flame retardant debris netting to prevent small debris from falling.
Phase 2
Phase 2 of this project required scaffolding to a number of houses and low level apartments. The sequence of works on this side were progressive bricklayer scaffolds with progressive loading bays including internal birdcages for timber joist and roof truss installation. The external scaffold was also clad in fire retardant debris netting.
We care about your opinion
Inner City were excellent at understanding the project constraints and surrounding risks when designing their scaffolds. This took into account the environment, consents required and the use of existing infrastructure. This is extremely important in a railway environment where the safety of the operation railway in of paramount importance.
