Did you know we can provide CAD 3D modelling and animations during the tender of a project?

Who?

We will use this on a variety of projects with all clients. When tendering a project, we will evaluate the complexity of the project along with the client’s needs.  An example of this is a project for Downwell Demolition, Inner City Scaffolding was tasked with the scope and delivery of scaffolding that had specific project proximity confines, in bordering residential properties, Docklands Light Rail, plus Tow Path for the adjacent harbour. As such Inner City had to provide a pictographic layout for consideration by all parties, identifying clash elements that could be engineered, or risk assessed therefore aiding mitigation of cost escalation, infrastructure disruption and contractual legal challenge.

What?

CAD (Computer-aided design) is software which helps create 2D, 3D and 4D drawings/animations of our products/systems before they are put into place at site. CAD is used in multiple different industries and allows clients to see solutions before committing financially, plus identify areas of process that work or require further consideration.

Where?

We have used CAD on a variety of our projects which need complex and innovative solutions. As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words. So, a CAD diagram speaks ten thousand at least! It enables both us and the client to see the project from the perspective of the location. This can be used on any and all of our scaffolding projects.

When?

We will produce a CAD design or model in the pre-planning stages of the project. We listen to our client’s needs, conduct our research on the location and conceptualise a solution taking on board the site programme and constraints. This process sounds simple but involves a sophisticated understanding of construction, design, health and safety plus much more.

Why?

Using CAD design helps both Inner City Scaffolding and our clients visualise how our scaffolding fits, and in what sequence. This can highlight any logistical problems we may encounter, enabling us to innovate solutions together prior to construction.

Is it worth it? – simply yes! We have never had negative feedback on the benefits of CAD conceptual planning, only extended conversations on the realities it presents along with front end solutions given.
